Feelings In Your Stories/Entries

 Feelings in Your Stories/Entries

Well-written stories and Notebook Entries will include feelings. As an author, it is your job to write so your audience will experience the feelings you want them to connect to as a result of reading your piece!

Feelings come in many different flavors.  Each flavor has a unique taste.  The more precise you are in deciding which flavor you are writing to attain, the better chance you have of helping your audience taste that flavor.

Many people believe emotions can be categorized as one of FIVE BASIC FEELINGS-mad,glad,sad, hurt, or scared.  When developing your character and plot, decide which feelings you are going to create with the help of your word choice.

Mad: angry, furious, outraged
Glad: happy, joyful, cheerful
Sad: depressed, unhappy, discouraged
Hurt: heartache, distressed, persecuted
Scared; afraid, frightened, terrified
